At Fruitlife PC we use carefully selected apples grown in local farms, and special emphasis is placed so that the highest agricultural procedures are followed to ensure excellent quality.
In addition, cultivars which are grown on the slopes of Mt Voras, overlooking Vegoritida lake are selected. This is a location which is renowned for its high-quality, apples fruit.
The method of treatment used is the natural –traditional method of dehydration under the sun in a well-protected area which assists the mild treatment of the fruit and the retaining of most of the vitamins and ingredients this contains.
The dehydrated apple texture is mild and its taste is sweet and close to a raw apple as no sugar is used and it resembles the fruit our ancestors used to make. Final moisture is about 18-22%.
Dried apples make up a sweet and healthy snack as they contain beneficial ingredients in human diet and can be combined with meat or fish recipes, tea mixtures, wine side dishes and cereal bars as well as fine bakery products. They are ideal for school children or lunch break at the office, for raw-food eaters and people on a diet.
Dehydrated Sour Apples
These dehydrated apples come from the Granny Smith variety which has a distinct sour taste. These dried apples are rich in dietary fiber and low in calories and sugar making them commonly recommended as a component of weight loss diets or diets for people with high sugar levels. Moreover, they can be used in recipes, tea mixtures, dried fruit assortment, cereal bars and fine bakery products. Final moisture is about 18-22%.
